Since December!

OK people, yes, it was a miracle. Krystalee updated! And it was in English! And it was good! So, I am in Weldon once again for another winter break off of school. I've been here since December and will be going back to BYUI in April. So what have I been doing in Weldon? Well...FUN THINGS! yes, its true. I had the wonderful opportunity to coach the JV girls basketball team at the High School this year. It was SO much fun! These girls are so fun and excited about life, i loved it. My girls are really talented when it comes to basketball too, they loved the game just like me! It was great fun coaching them and we ended up winning the league championship! So that was a highlight for the break.
Jared and I hiked up to packsaddle cave with Kayla and Debbie

RIGHT after basketball ended, literally the same week, the high school decided they needed to hire another aid for the severely handicapped room. Lucky for me I got the job! I work there every day helping out the kids in the room. I worked in there sometimes last winter also so i already knew all the kids. Everyday you are assigned to work with a new student and all the aids rotate between the children. They are all mentally disabled and three of them are in wheelchairs. Each one has different  needs and completely different personalities so you really have to get to know each of them individually. I like working here although sometimes it can be really exhausting.

During the break I have also been going over to the Kent's house to type for Nicole. Nicole has Friedreich's Ataxia, which is a disease that causes nervous system damage where the person looses their ability to use their limbs. Nicole is in a wheel chair and is also blind, hard of hearing and has diabetes. This disease does not affect you mentally though, so she isn't mentally disabled in any way. I have grown to really love Nicole, we have become good friends, I really enjoy typing for her. She talks to me and I type it all down, right now she is working on a book where she is writing her life story. She is just amazing!

This is us at Magic Mountain!
Jared is funny.
Alright, now I'll tell you about the real highlight of this break. Jared! :) heeee. :) I still get butterflies and all blubbly when i tell people about him, he's just so great! He came to Weldon for 3 weeks and visited! It was so much fun having  him here! The day he got here my mom and I picked him up at the airport, I was so excited and nervous to see him I just kept passing back in forth looking down the hall where i knew he would come out! When he FINALLY came out I ran with my arms out and just as I got to him I slipped right on my bum! ya! big slip, right to the floor, Jared kinda caught me...but not really. HAHA the lady who worked there was all asking me if I was OK and stuff. Jared would come with me to all my early morning basketball practices, my team loved him. While he was here I think he got to know about me a little better...one day we were out with my horse, Stella, and we were in her pin. I picked up a piece of poo and threw it at him. Wow, I've never thought people thought poo was so incredibly disgusting until now. He FREAKED out! haha, I mean, it's just a piece of poo, it's not that bad. All they eat is hay...what's so gross? It was funny. He has experienced the Weldon Hazard reputation for breaking down as well. It happened twice while he was here. First time was in the little motor boat we took out on the lake. Just as we got out there...it decided not to work! So Jared and Troy paddled back into shore. The other time was when we got the bug started up and made our way through the back dirt roads to the gas station, just as we rolled in, the car died. So we had to try jumping it and push starting it but nothing worked, so Kayla came and picked us up :) Jared is hyper all the time...I already knew it but this visit just reinforced the fact. I am the primary teacher for the 6-7 year olds and bringing him with me to class could have been a mistake. These kids are already overexcited about nothing anyways, but Jared gets in there and they just go BAZERK! I mean, whoa. And it was his fault too, I look over and catch him untying a boys shoe and poking a boy in the side, and sneaking candy to them under the table while I'm trying to give the lesson. man. One day I got Jared to dance. Yes I did. HE DANCED! Jared does not dance, but now that i've seen it, now I know it's possible! So, all you family, if he is present at one of the family dances in the future, don't let him stand the sideline! Jared is so sweet and kind and cute and just so wonderful to me. :) His visit was so much fun, I'm so happy he could come visit! And the most exciting this is that i get to go to Oregon to visit him in less than 2 weeks! I can't wait!

One last story. A few days ago I go out and find that one of our chickens has died while she was trying to lay an egg! :( poor chicker. So I come and tell Dad and he goes out there and gets her out of the nest and lays her next to a tree to bury her later that day. But he didn't. So yesterday morning i go out to feed the animals and something smells bad, i look over and the black bully neighborhood cat is sitting there eating the poor chicken! So I scare the cat away and run in to get Dad who is in the bathroom going putt. I look out the window and i see the cat running across the yard with the chicken in its mouth! Its going and try's to jump the fence! It couldn't get over with the chicken though but it keeps trying over and over :( It was a terrible scene. So now I'm yelling to Dad to get out there and telling him all that's happening and he starts yelling, "i;m gunna shoot that cat!" well he gets out there with his gun and the cat runs away, so he buries the chicken. It was all crazy.
